The USS San Francisco struck an uncharted undersea mountain on January 08, 2005 at flank speed while enroute to Australia.  Sixty of 137 crewmembers were injured, one fatally. You would think they would pickup the feature with sonar. Guess that's one way to make a map. Sorry about the fatality though.

Man!! this is good submarine than the kursk of the russian total wreck but it manage to surface and be repaired

GARBAGE...i hope american goverment will gave that TRASH submarine for the philippine navy..so that we can use it for hunting those illegal fisherman in our waters

I read the debrief on this incident given by RADM Sullivan, ComSubPac. One sailor was killed. When the boat hit the underwater mountain, the sailor was thrown into the Propulsion Lube Oil tank in Engine Room Lower Level. He died enroute to port.
