I was born and raised in Biloxi, Mississippi from 1969 to 1987. I joined
the U.S. Coast Guard in 1987 and was stationed in Everett, WA, Port Aransas,
TX, and then Seattle, WA. I served the U.S. Coast Guard with honor and
pride, saving more than a few lives and too much property to even remember.
During my tour in the USCG I didn't have the time to build knives, and that
is where my passion was, so I returned to civilian life in 1994. After a
few years of running around decompressing from the schedule of being in the
USCG, I started making knives in 1997. I had the passion to make knives
since I was a young boy, but never had the chance to really express this
desire. I finally had the chance and the first few knives I made were
accepted well, and I was hooked from that point on. I always had an
interest in blacksmithing and metal work, so naturally I gravitated to the
forged blade. There was something about forging a knife that resonated
deeply with my spirit. I joined the American Bladesmith Society in 1998,
and have been a member since. If all goes well I will test for my
Journeyman Bladesmith rating in June of 2005.
As of 2004 I am finally making knives full time and wide open for
production. Watch my gallery for updates!
